       A MAFIAN’S MEMORIES
                                                  By DR.M.THENARUVI

The long rides in the ECR
Watching blue skies from the car
Speeding wheels over the tar
Rushing to become a dental star.

Crossing the toll to enter the class
Listening to the mentor’s scholarly words
Imbibing the gist of the dental concepts
Wondering how their white coat sparks.

Walking over to the OPD
With books and bags through the avenue
No time now to break for tea
Or to gaze at the blooming tree.

Hot air blowing from the sea
Not thinking about the waves you flee
Crossing the full waiting area with glee
Hoping to get patients to see.

Reading till your name is called
Answering all the questions asked
Struggling to get a sign a day in the record
Wishing one day the effort gets reward.

Treating the patients so carefully
Using the skills acquired only recently
Focussing on the case at hand completely
Finishing with a feeling so heavenly.

Best friends who share their widest smiles
Others who glow with budding smiles
Acqaintances who show only a shadow of a smile
Without whom u could not have crossed this mile.

There were times spent all in tears
Over the course of these past years
Crying over broken plaster and dentures
Bleeding hands, run out time and yet to be read pages.

All we wanted was time to fly
To become a star in the dental sky
Now memories linger and make me cry
For its never enough to live your college life!

Kilvalai Rock Paintings

The rattaparai - kilvalai rock painting site is located very close to the city of Villupuram in Tamil Nadu.  The locals call this place rattapparai - which means twin rocks in Tamil, this could also mean blood rock which might be the name given due to the colour of the paintings. The exact location is in the taluk of Kandachipuram where agriculture is the major occupation of people till date. This might explain the crops surrounding the site and the need to walk in a very narrow path up till you climb on the exact rocks that have the paintings. The ASI has put up a fence around but its right on the rocks so I think this still is a private property. It's quite visible from the main road so once you park the vehicle and cross the short narrow path you will be climbing on the rocks.  The paintings are on top of the rocks so you will have to climb all the way up.  The way up is not steep so you can safely walk up.However you might need some good shoes with anti -slip properti...

Moon Day🤍

If I were to name this year I’d call this my year of inconsistency. I have never been quite weary of my deadlines ever in my life. This year I am just not finishing my projects if the deadline is something that I came up with and finishing them right on time if it is something that concerns others. I usually use the moon to calculate my progress. That is the main reason why most of my new book releases are around full moon days. This year during the buck moon I was in the Taj Mahal releasing the cover and first chapter of my next book. This day was also the Buddha purnima day. Since I was sitting in the mosquitoes and was quite busy with the cover designing and the next day was also a big day I did not write much that night. Originally because my mobile was dying and I did not want to be without the aid of a mobile phone till I reached my hotel room after the taj view at night.  There are two reasons why I love the moon. One is because it os always a part of the sky when I a...
